Shacklewell Lodge is an example of small scale collaboration between two neighbouring farmers who wanted to reduce their harvesting costs.
The two farmers jointly purchased a new combine harvester through a shared machine ownership agreement.
The new combine cost £125,000 and has a capacity of 30tonnes/hour.
It has greatly increased harvesting capacity and efficiencies for both farms.
Both partners hope this agreement will be the first step to taking on other pieces of machinery together.
