Key learning points

A long-standing joint venture, formed in 1989 between cousins Roger and Robert Middleditch.

The venture was developed to help ensure the survival of their small tenanted farm businesses.

The parent businesses cover 800 acres but they now farm almost 5,000 acres, mostly under contract farming agreements in a 15-mile radius of the home farms.

Crops include cereals, sugar beet, potatoes, asparagus and some parsnips.
