AWT is a limited liability partnership that started life as a machinery-sharing initiative between three farms.
Over time it has grown into a full-scale collaboration project involving five farms and 4300 acres in a 35 mile radius between Bury St Edmunds and Stansted Airport.
The farms are block cropped to reduce machinery movements. Average costs have been reduced from over £120/acre to just £80/acre.
Partners adjust costs and margins in proportion to the land they have each put into the partnership.
