Three dairy farmers in Leicestershire each had underutilised, aging machinery which was costly to run and unreliable.
They were brought together in a formal machinery sharing partnership, with a common aim of securing silage supply and reducing their costs of production.
Through the partnership the group purchased new equipment including a forage harvester which has reduced costs, secured silage supply and improved silage quality.
